Previously Mohan was the CTO of The Hive in Palo Alto, where he co-founded many startups. In his 25 years of career Mohan has worked at multiple companies including Zynga, IBM, Schlumberger, Expedia/Travelocity/Sabre, etc., where he architected and built platforms to scale to hundreds of millions of users.

Mohan currently also serves as Associate Director at Stanford Human Perception Lab. Mohan has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, a master’s in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA with specialization in computational finance

In this episode we speak with Dr. Farooq about how state government and workforce departments are navigating the challenges of emerging demand for AI and tech skills. Dr. Angelo Farooq is an entrepreneur and has had a lifelong dedication to education. Angelo and his wife, Vessy, have a daughter named Maya. Maya is currently a student in preschool at Riverside Unified School District. He is proudly born and raised in the Inland Empire and was inducted into the Hall of Fame from his hometown high school - Jurupa Valley.

Dr. Farooq has been elected for two terms on the Riverside School Board (governing 50 public schools). During his Presidency in 2019, Riverside Unified School District boasted the highest graduation rate (96%) in the County of Riverside and the highest of all of the 16 largest school districts in the State of California. His statewide leadership includes serving as a Governor appointee: Chair of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) that invests critical apprenticeship and job training investments to support quality economic development in our communities.

Dr. Rahim currently serves as the Kotouc Family Endowed Chair and Professor at Bellevue University and Founding Director of the Project Management Center of Excellence. As the Endowed Chair, he manages all project management education programs and trainings at the University and operates the Center of Excellence. He also engages in institution-building by collaborating with organizations, institutions and individuals both within and outside the university. He completed his post-doctoral studies at Harvard, Tulane and the University of Maryland Global Campus, earned a doctorate in management and two graduate degrees in business from Colorado Technical University and completed his undergraduate education at Empire State College and Onondaga Community College.

He was awarded an honorary Ph.D. from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and honorary degree from Onondaga Community College. He is a Fulbright recipient, TEDx Speaker and Award-Winning Educator and Entrepreneur. Dr. Rahim was the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award issued by the American Association of Community Colleges, honored with the John H. Mulroy Founder's Award by the Board of Trustees at Onondaga Community College and received the Community Impact Award from Empire State College. He was recognized by the United Nations Foundation as an Empact100 Honoree and won the Entrepreneur Teaching Excellence Award from Oklahoma State University and Presidential Teaching Innovation Award from Bellevue University.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Leslie Thomas has been helping clients create assessment programs to effectively measure and evaluate professional competence. In her role at Kryterion, Dr. Thomas and her team work closely with clients to translate their business goals into a credentialing program that provides real value to their stakeholders such as increased public safety, enhanced product adoption, mitigate risk, or lower support costs.

Prior to joining Kryterion, Leslie was the Chief Psychometric Officer at Brainbench, a leading provider of IT certifications which was later acquired by SHL. She also ran a successful consulting business providing services to several well-known clients such as the U.S. Army, Microsoft, and Lehman Brothers. Leslie started her career at ACT (formerly known as American College Testing), as a research scientist where she consulted on issues related to test development, legal defensibility, and psychometrics.
