Most people are familiar with Trip Advisor's website and rely on their reviews; although they seem to attempt to improve, they still have a percentage of questionable, paid, or fake reviews. Traditional travel agents were not allowed on the platform, or they needed to pay them to be included because their business is to sell Travel through their channels; in this video.
Travel advisors dedicate 8 to 12 hours a day to selling Travel, personal experience destinations, and hotels also have connections around the world is the best way to get travel advice. 
Check with your advisor if they have been working recently with the place you are going or if they have personal knowledge; we know your vacation can go from good to great!
