CFN AFTERTHOUGHTS episodes

  • Episode 22 - Bonus Episode - Worship Edition

by Walker Capps & Lenny Pisano | Christ Fellowship Cherrydale, Greenville, SC

On this episode of Afterthought Walker Capps and Lenny Pisano sit down to talk about a new song that will be introduced to the Christ Fellowship Cherrydale family this Christmas season entitled “The Advent”. Take a peek behind the curtain and hear how the song was written and also hear the guys walk through the lyrics that were heavily influenced by Philippians 2:1-11.

    Verse 1:

The greatest power to walk the earth
    Resting in a stable
    The prophesied and holy one
    Seated at our table

    Verse 2:

You could have claimed an earthly throne
    With justice and perfection
But you washed our feet and healed our wounds
    A holy redirection

    Chorus:

    Lift Him high
A banner over all our battles
    And victories
    Every knee
Will bend in awe and true confession
    Of our servant king
    our servant king

    Verse 3:

    God, himself in human form
    No fault or imperfection
Punished though He did no wrong
    But served us in submission

    Verse 4:

    Holy God for fallen man
    In our place was broken
    Rose in glorious life again
    The royalty of heaven

    Bridge:

    Emptied for our sake
    Humbled to the grave
    Name above every other name
    Crucified and raised
    Greatly to be praised
    Name above every other name
