We examine the Execution of Botham Shem Jean by Former Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger who was found guilty of murder Tuesday for the Murder of Botham Jean, after thinking he was an intruder when she mistakenly entered his apartment.

Guyger, who has been out on a $300,000 bond, faces a maximum of life in prison. Why was she was not immediately taken into custody ?

Guyger was off-duty but in uniform when she twice shot at Jean on Sept. 6, 2018, just before 10 p.m., striking him in the chest. She had worked a 13-1/2-hour shift on the Dallas Police Department's crime response team that day and parked on the fourth floor of the complex's garage.

Thomas Cook has collapsed after last-minute negotiations aimed at saving the 178-year-old holiday firm failed. Leaving the public with even less choice.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the tour operator had "ceased trading with immediate effect".

It has also triggered the biggest ever peacetime repatriation, aimed at bringing more than 150,000 British holidaymakers home.

Peter Fankhauser, Thomas Cook's chief executive, said the firm's collapse was a "matter of profound regret".

Commenting as the company entered compulsory liquidation , Mr Fankhauser also apologised to the firm's "millions of customers, and thousands of employees".

The tour operator's failure puts 22,000 jobs at risk worldwide, including 9,000 in the UK.

A 12-year-old boy has had emergency surgery to save his testicles after he fell victim to a cruel 'Bangc**k' craze sweeping British schools.

Bailey Summers from Hartlepool was on the receiving end of an unprovoked punch which saw him taken into theatre without anaesthetic and given a wheelchair for two weeks after requiring four stitches to each testicle.

His mother Emmajayne, 32, had 'signed away his manhood' approving doctors to remove his testicles if necessary and feared the worst as the medical team raced against the clock.

The cruel prank involves a boy being asked to name the capital of Thailand before he is punched in the groin as a pun on the answer 'Bangkok'.

Shohfah-El Israel, 40, was convicted by a jury at Reading Crown Court of killing 20-year-old Joy Morgan.

Ms Morgan was last seen on 26 December at a church event in Ilford. Her body has never been found.

Judge Michael Soole said Israel's "cruel and cowardly" refusal to reveal her whereabouts caused "continuing distress and suffering" to her family.

Sentencing Israel to life with a minimum of 17 years, the judge said: "Only you know the circumstances of your terrible deed and why you did it.

"You are evidently an intelligent man and have said nothing beyond the lies and the explanations which the jury has rejected."

In a victim impact statement read out to the court her mother Carol Morgan described the Hertfordshire University student as her "shining light and my superstar".

The court heard Israel had spent time alone with Ms Morgan, of Hatfield, Hertfordshire, in December, breaching church rules which banned women from being with men other than their husbands.

He initially told police he had dropped off Ms Morgan at her student accommodation in Hatfield after a celebratory dinner at the church, but later admitted she had spent two nights at his flat in Cricklewood in north-west London.

A signal from Ms Morgan's phone, which has never been found, was detected in Israel's car in the Stevenage area on 28 December.

He was "most likely looking for somewhere to dispose of the body", prosecutors told the jury.

'Loved by so many'

The keys to the student's accommodation were found in the footwell of Israel's car after his arrest in February.

Israel, who denied having sex with Ms Morgan, had sent her messages in March 2018 calling her "an amazing princess" and "a treasure that cannot be measured".

Both were worshippers at the Israel United in Christ Church in Ilford, though Israel claimed Ms Morgan had been thinking of leaving.

This is clearly more of a finance issue. We have a homeless, low income women in one arena. And an extremely wealthy high profile celebrity, who can afford amazing lawyers, in another. This becomes a racial AND financial disparity. I know someone is gonna argue that McDowell’s sentence also included drug charges, HOWEVER the initial five years is because she changed her address so her son can go a decent school. Situations like this just reaffirm what we already know. The criminal justice system very rarely distinguishes people as humans, but rather as a race, income, or social standing.
