Immanuel means 'God with us'. God has drawn close to us in Jesus' birth. He calls us to draw close to him by faith in Jesus' atoning death. (Sermon)

Matthew's account of Jesus' birth is not a nativity scene of a cute baby born in poor surroundings while worshiped by wise men. Instead, it describes one battle in the war of good or God against evil (Satan). (Sermon)
