Episode 22 “The Holy Spirit and Christmas” Series: “Step into His Presence”

Hello, and thank you for joining us today for Episode 22 of our series, "Step into His Presence." My name is Stephanie Wright, and we are going to look at the role of the Holy Spirit in the birth of Jesus. 

Christmas took on a new meaning for me in 2024. The Lord compelled me to speak about the Holy Spirit in November 2024 and to continue into 2025. During these preparations, the significance of the Holy Spirit at Christmas became more apparent to me. After we read what the angel Gabriel said to Mary when he announced that she would be the mother of Jesus, we will discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in Christmas. 

We will close the podcasts by remembering Jesus’ purpose in coming into this world: to restore the relationship between God and man through his—Jesus’—death on the cross for our sins. Then, He rose from the dead so we could win over sin. That takes us to our closing point. Jesus was born so you could live eternally—forever—with God one day. If you have not received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today would be a good day to do so. Romans 10:9 says, if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved, that is, saved from a life of sinning against God to a life of serving Him and spending eternity with Him.

Episode 21” The Unity of the Trinity “ Series: “Step into His Presence”

There is no rivalry between God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Welcome to Episode 21 of our segment on the Holy Spirit, "The Unity of the Trinity." 

In a previous podcast, we discussed that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not rivals but united as One. We must understand this because when we pray, we need complete confidence that the Holy Spirit is taking our request to the throne of God as our intercessor here on Earth.

We explore how the Holy Spirit was treated as if He were not part of the Godhead, the heresies that led to this exclusion, a man named Tertullian who gave the Holy Spirit His proper place in the Godhead, coining the word "Trinity"; and supporting scriptures that show the "Unity of the Trinity."

Hello and welcome to Episode 20, “In the Trenches with the Holy Spirit,” in our series, “Step into His Presence.” This podcast is dedicated to our veterans as we celebrate Veterans Day, November 11, and all week. 

Our guest today is a veteran and someone we all know, Apostle Charles G. Wright. He will share a war story and his personal experience when he was in combat in Vietnam. This is the first time he will tell us about this event. It is relevant to today’s podcast because while we may not have been in an actual war, we have been in spiritual warfare. Let’s go to our interview.

Welcome, Apostle Charles. This is an informal interview, and you have agreed to share one of your experiences in Vietnam: being trapped in the trenches while under fire. Let’s give our listeners a little background on you.

You served as an infantry medic in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. You are the recipient of the Bronze Star with “V” Device, the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Campaign Medal, and the Campaign National Defense Medal. We have previous podcasts about Apostle Charles, and we will share with you how to access those at the end of this presentation.

Episode 19, “Step into His Presence: The Holy Ghost”

Hello and welcome to Episode 19 of our series “Step into His Presence.” Today, we are stepping into the presence of the Holy Spirit, also known as the Holy Ghost. My name is Stephanie Wright, and I am your host for today’s episode.

Before we start, you can enjoy Episode 18, a flashback video on our YouTube channel @cgmissionsinc celebrating our 20th anniversary in missions. Okay, it’s time to step into His presence.

Next year, on March 23, I will celebrate 50 years since I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. That was March 23, 1975. I have traveled for 50 years with another friend. My friend isn’t male or female, he or she, but my friend is a spirit. You guessed it, the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost. I was compelled to talk about the Holy Spirit because some of us have relegated Him to a bit part in a major production—our lives—instead of giving Him equal billing with the Father and the Son. It is no offense to the Father and Son if we recognize the Holy Spirit. They are not rivals with one another because they are One God in three distinct persons—the Trinity. They work in concert to fulfill the requests presented to the throne of God.
           We have forgotten the Spirit’s purpose in our lives. The Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit back to earth to indwell and empower us. That’s what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8. “But you shall receive power (Dunamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
           The Holy Spirit has a specific work to do on earth. That work is to be our intercessor between earth and heaven—an intercessor for advocating or advising in any situation. So, when we have circumstances that we don’t fully understand—and there are many of those—we have to trust the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. The Holy Spirit knows how to interpret what we need for God to do. Romans 8:26 says, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

I explained in an earlier podcast that the Holy Spirit is our advocate, like an attorney or lawyer. So, let’s think of it like this. You go to an attorney and explain what you need done. Your attorney will not go to the court and use your exact words. She will qualify or break down what you said into legal terminology so the judge understands your request. Most likely, what you say would not be in the language a judge would comprehend, but your lawyer will precisely and effectively word your request so that it is understood perfectly by the judge. That’s what the Spirit does for us. We say Holy Spirit, this is what I need. The Holy Spirit intercedes for you in heaven with the perfectly worded request. Then Jesus—seated at the right hand of God as our mediator with God—finalizes the request to God and God answers. I Timothy 2:5 and Mark 16:19. Today’s episode takes us to 2019 and the Women’s Conference held in Boca Raton, Florida. Pastor Janice Watson headed this informative and fun conference for Grace Covenant Fellowship, International — Apostle Dr. Timothy Treadwell, Chief Prelate. Apostle Stephanie was one of the speakers whose presentation was on the importance of missions. She also spoke briefly about marriage but, more importantly, about putting our trust in God, whether on or off the mission field. Apostle Charles G. Wright delivered an inspirational message at the 110th Convocation of the Historic Virginia First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction C.O.G.I.C. His message was “A Charge to Keep and a God to Serve.” He reminded everyone that we have work to do. He described God’s convocation as “His called-out assembly for a chosen and unique people to accomplish God's works and worship throughout the world.” He encouraged the congregation to put their gifts to work — to go into the world to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Stephanie Wright received the 2024 Gertrude Rush Award on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Her speech was about perseverance— a principle embraced by Gertrude Rush, Iowa's first Black female attorney. Stephanie details her perseverance to have her name included in the book “History of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa (1882-2020).” She tells why her name was left out, who left her name out, and how she got her name back into the history book. She shares how divine intervention brought her to the attention of a New York Times reporter and the publication of her story, "A Retired Prosec&t=48sutor's Quest for Recognition." She concludes with statements on the importance of doing the right thing to set the record straight.

Episode 13 in our Series Step into His Presence
“Calling All Superheroes and Sheroes”

Look up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's . . . When you were little, did you have a superhero or a super–shero or did you want to be one? I guess for many of us, depending on your age, it was Superman, then as the years went by, it was Wonder Woman. Like any other kid, I loved superheroes too. But do you realize that you are a supernatural hero or shero who can make a difference on the small stage or on the world stage? Yes. You can make a difference through prayer and fasting. Fasting and prayer can change your life and can change the lives of people anywhere in the world. I believe this because of the supernatural superheroes in God's Word who fasted, prayed and changed the outcome of history. But I have also heard of modern-day accounts of how prayer warriors changed things through fasting and prayer and delivered a nation. Let's explore this today. My name is Stephanie Wright.
