U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters as he prepared to board Air Force One in Morristown, New Jersey, on June 8 that there were "violent people" in Los Angeles "and they're not going to get away with it."

Asked if he planned to send U.S. troops to Los Angeles, Trump replied that there would be "troops everywhere" and that he will not let the "country be torn apart like it was under Biden."
