The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating rapidly. On Thursday, Gaza-based health authorities reported four more deaths from starvation and malnutrition in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 115 since March.

CGTN Stringer interviewed a Gaza refugee from the Nuseirat refugee camp, who had spent the entire morning in line for relief supplies for his children. "The economic situation we're in is hard. The crossings are closed. There's nothing we can do." He expressed hope that the situation would improve and the siege would end as soon as possible.

On March 3 1943, 173 locals rushed to Bethnal Green tube station amid an air-raid alarm and were crushed to death while seeking shelter. Ray Lechmere barely escaped with his life. Now, at 91, he chokes up as he recalls seeing piles of bodies “from the ceiling to the bottom” and the agonizing wait for news about his loved ones, who were missing after the incident.
