Sheletta Brundidge joins the show to kick off the 1pm hour as she does every Friday. She talks about the first week of school and the cheat sheet she’s provided to her kids' teachers. It’s a big week of adjustment for everyone with littles headed back to the classroom, Sheletta details some of her experiences as a mother of special needs kids and some of the challenges they’re navigating.
They also talk about undergrads choosing to spend thousands of dollars to custom decorate their dorm rooms, Sheletta playing the Newlywed Game with her ex-husband last week and voting results from Sheletta’s election at the Fair.
Adam Carter is then joined by Michael Stetzler (former board president of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church) to talk about something he’s helped build and guide called Sacred Settlements.
Adam asks Michael to explain the mission and story behind Sacred Settlements. He speaks about providing community especially among people experiencing homelessness.
Michael explains the differences of what they provide versus social services, their “radical” idea of placing no timeline on the residents to leave. They provide a place to call home permanently if people should choose.
