Why doesn’t simply being around people cure our loneliness? Pastor Justin answers that question in his last message to Chadron Bible Church.
Every year, countless people look forward to Christmas with joyful anticipation. But there are also countless people who experience levels of loneliness at Christmas. The good news of Christmas, though, is that we are never truly alone. There is help and hope for the lonely through Immanuel, "God With Us."
We finish Romans with a reminder that if we have embraced the theology of Romans 1-11, we will cherish Christian community. We love Jesus and His people more.
While some Christians in Rome were caught up in arguing over non-essentials, Paul was risking his life to reach the unreached and bring unity to the churches. Who do we resemble? What are we focusing on? Because if Romans 1-11 is true -- that everyone desperately needs Jesus -- then, by God's grace, we have work to do! We're part of this unfolding Gospel story!
Is it possible for two Christians, both accepted by God, both approved by God in their differing convictions, to advance the mission of the church and fulfill the purpose for their existence? To do the very thing they were created to do? To be the people they were meant to be? And to become a tangible picture of hope in a desperately broken world?
Not all issues are moral issues. There are what we would call "gray areas" in Christian life. How should Christians respond when something is neither prohibited nor required? And when there is disagreement among Christians over them? Welcome to Romans 14!
If we want to make disciples and change the world -- it doesn't matter if you're a Boomer, Millennial, Gen Z, Gen Alpha, or somewhere in between -- we need to be "dripping" with the Lord Jesus. That's always in style in God's kingdom.
A life that has been transformed by the gospel realities of Romans 1-11 is going to love others when it makes no sense. And that's weird! Let's keep it that way.
Romans 1-3 teaches that you are a sinner worthy of God's wrath. Romans 4-11 teaches that we have been given incredible mercies in Christ. How should we respond to these mercies? We discuss that in Romans 12:1-8.
What's it really like to be a missionary? How does God use our weaknesses to do mission work? We welcome you to join us for that discussion here and on our YouTube channel under "Chadron Bible Church."
