  • a lil life update :)

⭐ Hello friends, here's Episode 7! This episode is super short simply because I talk about a couple of things going on in my life right now and whatever is on my mind. Let me know how you feel about this less-structured episode and any suggestions for future ones. Enjoy!

  • applying to college: essays, tests, & tons of advice! (ft. deena)

⭐ Hello, hello & welcome to Episode 6! In this episode, I am joined by my (wise?) older sister, Deena, who has a lot to say about the process of applying to college. We do this almost interview-style and she describes her experiences in the last couple of months and shares some pretty valuable advice regarding everything from mental health to letters of recommendation to a general timeline you should try to stick to!

Just a disclaimer, though, that we're not professionals in any sense and have no idea what your individual situation looks like. With that being said, take the advice we give with a grain of salt and make sure you do your own research to see what works for you, but feel free to check out any of the resources we mention! Good luck with college apps! :)

  • middle school madness! (ft. my lil sister)

⭐ (NOTE: This episode was originally published MAY 30, but due to a technical issue, had to be republished on JULY 29. Keep in my mind it was meant to be May's episode and was recorded in that month as well. Enjoy!)

Welcome to Episode 4! In this episode, I bring on a very special guest: my little sister, Rahma! As an incoming 6th grader, she has tons of questions, worries, and excitement to share with all of you. I address her questions with my advice and reflect back on the experiences that have helped me become more confident in myself.

p.s. Despite her being a bit quiet, I promise I didn't force Rahma to come onto the podcast; She just wasn't sure when to speak, haha! 😂 We had a great time recording this episode, and hope all of you enjoy listening to it!

  • taking advantage of your summer :)

⭐ Episode 5 is here! In this episode, I talk through a list of various activities to keep you productive and occupied this summer! I tried to cover a wide range of activities to fit nearly everyone's tastes. Therefore, if some of the activities are more general, it's so that you can put a twist on it with your unique interests!

If you're still reading this, here's a great resource to check out to find a job near you this summer (or to save for the future): *indeed.com* This website is super helpful to get really specific in the type of job you want. The website occasionally has some internships for high schoolers sprinkled throughout as well!

p.s. don't forget to follow the ig! that's all for this episode! :)

  • so you're in...college?

⭐ Welcome to the second episode! Join me as I dive into the daunting world of doing college coursework while in high school. In this episode, I share my experiences as an early college student, the pros and cons of the program, and how things are doing for me now that I'm a part of this journey!

*Note: You'll notice the word "virtual" used a lot in the episode. For those listening in the future, this is in the context of COVID-19, currently requiring most schools to be online. Also, I'm not too sure what happened with the editing of the audio at the end, haha!*

  • our experiences with hijab ft. deena

⭐ Welcome to the first episode! Join me and my older sister, Deena, as we dive a little deeper into the meaning of hijab, how it impacts our everyday lives, what modesty means to us, and the good and the bad that comes with covering your head. In this episode, we share our different experiences that have shaped our identities as hijabis and given us the confidence to be strong Muslimahs.

Disclaimer: I highly suggest if you want an Islamic opinion, to contact an imam or scholar. We are in no way professionals, and are just sharing our opinions and perspectives!
