The annual water main flushing for the city of Waupaca will be taking place this coming week.  This routine maintenance will help remove naturally occurring mineral deposits such as iron from the water distribution system, and will improve water quality and the reliability of the system.  Flushing will occur from  7am until 3pm.  Residents are advised to limit water use during these times to avoid drawing discolored water into the home.  If you get discolored water, stop using the water and wait 45 minutes, then run only cold water until the water becomes clear.  Questions on this process can be directed to the water department by calling them at 715 258 44 20.

Waupaca's celebration of Bach continues through this weekend.  This evening will have Bach in the Brewery at H H Hinder at 6:30; featuring Stanislav Venglevski, world renowned Bayan accordion virtuoso.  Tomorrow between 10:30 and 2:30, Bach family fun day at the arts hub.  Activities include t-shirt printing, sheet music craft, Bach-inspired pottery painting, baroque music by Stas, life of Bach story time, classical music presentation, Bach concert and more. Finally, on Sunday starting at 6:30 at St Mary's church, the Bach festival chamber orchestra performance, featuring the central Wisconsin symphony orchestra, as well as cupcakes and wine.  Sunday's event is the only one requiring a ticket.  More information, including a schedule of events and opportunity for tickets can be found online at Waupaca arts dot org. 

The Waupaca library has a monthly first look book sale on the 4th Saturday of the month, which happens to be tomorrow.  From 9am until 1 in the lobby between the library and city hall, this sale features all new additions of books, movies, and puzzles before they are placed in the book sale room.  These details are also available on the library's website, Waupaca library dot org.

The City of Waupaca’s new AV Studio at the Waupaca Business Center officially opens to the public tomorrow. Funded in part by Fox Valley Technical College, the studio offers professional tools for podcasting, virtual meetings, music production, audiobook recording, video and photo creation, audio editing, and even converting VHS tapes and cassette recordings to digital formats. The studio is located inside the Waupaca Business Center and is available by reservation through Rec Desk at WaupacaRec.com or by calling the Business Center at 715-258-4435.

State Senator Rachael Ca-bral-Gue-vara will host a public listening session this evening at the Waupaca Library. Community members are invited to share concerns, ideas, and feedback on issues affecting the area. The session runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in Meeting Room A. The event is open to the public.

The Waupaca Bach Festival continues this week with a series of concerts, educational programs, and family activities celebrating the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. This evening at 7pm features a free community concert at Trinity Lutheran Church. The festival wraps up Saturday with family activities and a chamber concert featuring the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. Details and tickets online at Waupaca Arts dot org.

An exhibit celebrating 20 years of Arts on the Square is now on display at the Waupaca Area Public Library. The exhibit highlights the history, projects, and community impact of the event through the years and was created in partnership with the Waupaca Community Arts Board. The free public exhibit runs through October 3 during regular library hours.

The 115th Fighter Wing will conduct evening training flights Monday through Thursday, shifting its usual daytime operations to nighttime hours and wrapping up around 10 p.m. The wing says the training is necessary to ensure airmen remain prepared to operate in all conditions. Flight paths will continue to be used that are designed to reduce noise impacts for area residents.

The Waupaca Bach Festival continues this week with a series of concerts, educational programs, and family activities celebrating the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Lastly, The Waupaca County Aging and Disability Resource Center is seeking volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to local seniors through its home-delivered meals program. Officials say there is a critical need for volunteers, with delivery routes taking about an hour to complete. Tomorrow, starting at 9am is the annual fall-o-rama.  This year, it will be taking place inside the Rec Center, but will still contain craft and vendor booths, food trucks, line dancers, live music and animals, magic performances, firefighters and the jaws of life, and plenty more.  Proceeds from this event go to Friends of Waupaca Parks.  For more details or to join the vendor waiting list, you can visit the Friends website at friends of Waupaca parks dot com.

Also tomorrow, the Waupaca library adult book club meets to discuss "The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry", by Rachel Joyce.  The discussion takes place in the Library's conference room at 10am, or over Zoom.  The next book to be discussed is John Green's book, "Everything is Tuberculosis".
