On this weeks episode the FC talk about the hit sitcom; Girlfriends. They take on the conversation by looking back retrospectively on the early 2000s tv series through a 2021 lens. They dissect the series by discussing each of the main characters one-by-one; commenting on their good and bad moments on the show and, on a broader scale, potential problems in how they were presented onscreen.

In this special Valentines Day episode, the FC weigh in on a number of topics surrounding Valentines Day & relationships (eg. Gift giving, going on dates and communication) . As the episode progresses they relate the topics to themselves and use that to justify their own views on relationships.

The FC reunite to kick off season 2 of ‘Chale Let’s Gist’. They start off by sharing the things that they have learnt about running a podcast from season 1. They then, introduce the first ‘Meme mentality’ segment of the season which goes on to inspire a conversation regarding the Madonna- whore complex. Lastly, they talk about the audio-based social media app, clubhouse.

The FC start this episode with a ‘meme mentality’ style analysis of ‘WAP’. They express their thoughts on the video design and concept. They then, further this discussion by speaking on the controversy brought about by the video. They end by exploring the many reasons why black women are plagued by the desire of having long hair. ‘Chale Let’s Gist’ would also like to acknowledge the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman on Friday. This FC commence this week by recognising Soulja Boy as an influential artist of our generation (despite what others may believe). The main conversation begins with a discussion regarding the relationship between a man’s wife and his mother. This, then broadened out to a conversation about traditional (and slightly toxic) African views on how elders should be addressed. After this, they gave their opinion on whether or not service providers should be held to the same standard that they hold their clients to. On this weeks episode, the FC speak on Zendaya’s upcoming movie “Malcolm & Marie“ which involved shooting in accordance with social distancing requirements. The conversation moved on to the FC discussing a range of topics. We lightly touched on the smelly disease plaguing us that is homophobia and transphobia; based on the comment section under an episode of ‘The Chi’. Making reference to a recent viral tweet, we began to form a discussion on why ‘Boy Dad’ is not a thing. The FC, also, incorporated a new, untitled segment in this episode.
