As we approach returning to the weight room or training with our athletes in general there is a lot of uncertainty. How should we approach adjusting athletes weights? How should we make sure people are safely lifting with or without spotters?

We often use the weight room to build and grow the culture of our teams. With many of us unable to get into the weight room, we now must find new and creative ways to foster team unity and cohesion. For teams with a good foundation this might come easily, but what about the teams who are still on their first steps of 'building' a program rich with culture and tradition?

Summer training might look a little (or a lot different) for most programs this year. Coach Bres has run a summer program for over a decade, and is actually looking at this summer as an exciting and fun challenge. We talk about how many of the ways we build community and culture still exist at home. We then take a deeper dive into the actual training programs to help athletes get better over the summer.
