Easier said then done. Social wellbeing has three elements

1. Social Acceptance - accepting others
2. Social Actualisation - knowing who they are and their purpose within society 
3. Social Contribution - A sense of belonging to the community and making a contribution to society. 

In this episode we touch on Social Acceptance. 

High performers are the most incredible listeners. They hold space and ask strong questions. They want the best from their tribe. They want to empower their people and always get them to believe in themselves. Sometimes we don't get that response from athletes. 

If I want to be a high performer - I make the most generous assumption people are doing the best they can. Then we go from there.

How do we achieve success without big aspirations. How do we align ourselves if we don't know what for. 

Our goals and dreams align if we are brave and courageous enough to not stay accustomed to the worlds societal expectation of us.

If everyone could apply this stuff we would have many successful people in the world, but how do we be the anomaly In order for us to control and manage stress, to feel good and function well we need to have a clear vision of the person we are trying to become.

Sleep, Nutrition and Hydration have to be the most imperative controllable that can aid muscle growth and tissue repair, cognitive behaviours, problem solving and stress regulation. What I've learnt so far in this space!

Elite female athletes are currently in a prosperous but hard growth phase. With majority of our Australian/NZ team sports, the female spaces are full of new opportunity, but also huge responsibility.

Traditionally as the care-takers of the house hold based on societal norms, many of our young, old or new female professional athletes are having to manage this space with limited expertise. 

Our research in sports performance as female athletes equates to only 3% of all sport performance research internationally. 

Based on our female physiology the way we function is very different to a male. Therefore I think it's important to share learnings of how we are strong in our own right.

How you can become a high performing part-timer, and how you can reshape your thinking to do the best you can with what you have at this time in female sport.

How to balance emotions? Meditation, breathing, mindfulness, gratitude...there are all of these alternative ways thats available to us to help stress-reguate and have more control over our emotions....but is it really that easy.

Finding the gap between who we are and who we want to be through understanding your environment and the people you give your time too. 

In a high school environment there is an obscene amount of pressure on our young people. Unfortunately in a space where social heirachy either helps you fit in or makes you feel isolated, our young women aren't able to grasp their sense of self and instil self-belief when they are trying to mould themselves for safety - a friendship group etc.

We are quick to dream and create a vision of what we want, but do we have the capability to show up everyday and change our actions, behaviours and habits towards becoming the person we need to be in order to achieve those dreams.

Balancing Self-Compassion and Accountability. 

We are human. Everyone has their own perception of personal development, purpose and ways to cope in this world. 

My podcasting journey was started to increase education and awareness for myself, and hopefully in the process, allow others to learn from my mistakes and different learnings. 

Resetting away from your flourishing environment takes a lot of falling down, but I will keep working on improving myself, my focus and my attention.
