Chamomile & Clove

Clovers,

Somehow, impossibly, we've made it here - to the finale of the adaptation of A Discovery of Witches. It's bittersweet -- we're glad to see the Bishop-Clairmont scion get their happy ending, but it's hard to close the curtain on this wonderful production and its cast and crew.

In this episode, we're talking about closure -- where we found it, where we didn't, and how you pin the tail on an antagonist. We're also gearing up for our season (and series) wrap episodes and processing how we feel about having one more dance sequence at Sept-Tours.

We're collecting your feedback for our wrap episodes, so make sure you send in your thoughts to [email protected]. Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates or to tell us how you felt about Episode 3x07. Until next time,

Happiest equinox, Clovers!

We hope that there are glimmers of spring (or fall) wherever you are and that today finds you safe, well, and full of joy.

So, HOLY ADAPTATION, BATMAN. We're delighted to talk today about the smart, courageous, and very satisfying changes the writers' room made for this episode and what that means for the end of our series. As usual, we're also talking about character arcs, Gallowglass's pectorals (we can't help it), and what it means when your protagonist loses the moral high ground.

We can't wait to share the finale with you. Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates or to tell us how you felt about Episode 3x06. Happiest Sunday, Clovers.

We're nearing the end of our coverage of A Discovery of Witches TV and this episode makes it clear that we're getting ready to tie up the plot and say our goodbyes. There's a lot to love here, but we're also facing the consequences of our limited time with our favorite characters and the adaptive choices we've made along the way. In today's episode, you'll hear our take on gaucho pants (hard pass), Alex Kingston (hell to the yes), and whether spellbinding a blood rage vampire makes any difference (or any sense).

We can't wait to share the rest of this amazing season with you. Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates or to tell us how you felt about Episode 3x05. For between episodes fun and news, please follow our Facebook page or consider joining our listeners' group, the Chamomile & Clove Clovers. Wow. As of yesterday, we've reached the finale of A Discovery of Witches TV -- it's an incredible accomplishment for the cast, the crew, the producers, and the fandom. We're sad that we won't have any more episodes to look forward to, but we're going to prolong the fun for as long as we can.

In this episode, we're talking about the adaptive choices we've made that have consequences for how Episode 3x04--and the rest of the series--have to play out. We're mourning the absence of Puddles (episode review: too few daschunds), picking at the threads of how we choose to portray Timothy, and fully enjoying Miriam telling Matthew to get his head out of his behind.

Happy Sunday, Clovers.

We hope that February is treating you well and that you're delighting in S3 of A Discovery of Witches TV as much as we are.

In this episode, we're traveling to New Orleans to reckon with Matthew's past and the remainder of Marcus's family. Meanwhile, Diana and Phoebe are hot on the trail of the Book of Life and Gallowglass and Sarah have conspired to wreck us emotionally. Join us for a conversation about character arcs, condensed plotwork, interiority, and what exactly we might be doing with Satu...

We can't wait to share the rest of this amazing season with you. Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates and previews of our upcoming episodes or to tell us how you felt about Episode 3x03. Thank you so much for joining us for this extended episode of our A Discovery of Witches TV season 3 coverage. We love episode 2 of season 3, mostly because of Jack and Father Hubbard. At the beginning of this episode we also take a deep dive into ableism, sanism, and disability in order to tie into our blood rage discussion here in season 3. Enjoy!

The moment we've waited for is finally here! It's premiere day for Season 3 of A Discovery of Witches TV on Sundance Now, Shudder, and AMC+. It's been a long wait, but we think the end result is glorious -- a fitting and beautiful start to our final season.

In this episode, we're talking about all of the important things -- modern Gallowglass (rawr), Baldwin v.2 (we dig), and our collective grief about Em (we miss you, Valarie Pettiford).

We can't wait to share the rest of this amazing season with you. Clovers, Clovers.

Somehow, we made it to 2022. It's been a long haul, but we're glad to have you here with us for another year of All Souls fandom. Today, we're spending some time spinning tracks for the one and only Gallowglass -- the wanderer, the guardian, the Scots-inflected, motorcycle-riding, sea shanty-singing, shaggy bear of our hearts. You can find Deb's Gallowglass playlist on Spotify.

And you can find ours on Spotify and YouTube.

In the meantime, you have our best wishes and brightest hopes for 2022. Be well.

Happiest Sunday, wherever you are. We apologize for the minor service interruption -- our day jobs got in the way of us putting out an episode last week, but we're trying to make up for it by delivering big on The Book of Life Playlist. There's giggling, ghosts, and Switchfoot, which feels like par for the course.

Deb's playlist for The Book of Life can be found on Spotify.

Ours can be found on Spotify and on YouTube.

Our Gallowglass playlist is on the way and it's a *BANGER*. We can't wait to share it with you! Do you have a song (or songs?) you would add to this playlist? Let us know and we'll add them! Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates and previews of our upcoming episodes or to submit your suggestions. For between episodes fun and news, please follow our Facebook page or consider joining our listeners' group, the Chamomile & Clove Clovers. We're here to toot our own horn *just a little* and say that our combined Matthew Clairmont playlist is most excellent. We've taken the killer beginnings of Deb's original and added some riffs and I don't think you'll be disappointed. There's some big feelings, some melancholy moods, some redemption, some emo -- a glorious range for a complicated man.

You can find Deb's original playlist for Matthew on Spotify.

Our playlist can be found both on Spotify and YouTube.

Up next, we're talking about The Book of Life Playlist and then Gallowglass and Ysabeau and Philippe and and and... you get the picture. Do you have a song (or songs?) you would add to this playlist? Let us know and we'll add them! Follow us on Twitter as @chamomilenclove for updates and previews of our upcoming episodes or to submit your suggestions.
