'The winter brings you but the summer keeps you', is a favourite phrase of those living in Chamonix, France.
And it is no different for the dynamic duo of Nikki Barnard and Sam Morton of The Adventure Running Company. An enthusiasm for the mountains, which led them to the Alps as ski bums, has turned into a long term love affair for the trails and inspiring others to have as much fun as they do.
Mountain leaders and trail coaches with some awesome races between them, listen in for tales of living in the foothills of UTMB, how to get your mate to wash your feet and what is is like to run up (and down) Kilimanjaro. Oh and plenty of talk of pizza and ice cream.
'If you really want to do something, no matter how big it is, there is a way.' - Nikki
'this huge spider totally stopped me dead in my tracks' - Nikki
'you run top to bottom of Killi - that's pretty flipping spectacular' - Sam
'its so easy for something to happen, the weather to come in' - Sam
'you can run the same route over and over and still be blown away by the views' - Sam
We Run Trail is a growing community of people who love running trail whether it be on 2 feet, 2 wheels, over fields, down fells, across parks, up mountains or along trails. Whether you are new to trail or have been round the hill many times, we believe what connects us are the people, the places and the stories we tell. Go to www.weruntrail.com to search for trail 'experts' around the world and follow us on IG and FB.
This Podcast is hosted by Andy Brooks and Jude Palmer. Both are experienced runners and trail coaches who have lots of stories between them but most importantly enjoy hearing everyone else's trail adventures. With one down south and one up north, there are bound to be differences and humour along the way.
Join them to catch up on great coaching tips, runners stories from around the world (ok a lot from the UK!) and why trail is clearly the best version of running.
We want to hear from anyone and everyone who has a trail story to share. Get in touch with
