Katie Smith-Parent is the Executive Director of Young Women in Energy (YWE), a nonprofit Alberta organization of more than 4500 members that provides voice, presence, development and leadership for women working in the energy industry. She is also the co-founder of Access Connects, a group dedicated to increasing women into decision-making roles in all sectors in Calgary.
Katie Smith-Parent is the Executive Director of Young Women in Energy (YWE), a nonprofit Alberta organization that works to increase female voice presence, development and leadership in Alberta's energy sector. Katie works for Spartan Controls, leading business development for industry diversification and works hard to share success stories of efforts to decarbonize the energy industry. She is also a part of the Pathways Alliance, a group of six major oil sands producers working to reduce emissions, and the Calgary Petroleum Club in Business Awards. Through her work, Katie is trying to show people the opportunity to be a part of the energy transition and that it can be done ethically and responsibly.
