Katherine Hay (she/her) is a mother, sports enthusiast, avid reader and serves as the current Executive Director at Kickstand.  Since started work, she has been a tireless advocate for recovery oriented, person-centered care, that focuses on the whole person provided in the environments in which they want to live, work and play.  Katherine’s experiences include inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care for adults and young adults, working as an Occupational Therapist, and then in management and leadership positions.  Most recently, Katherine joined Kickstand, Alberta’s Integrated Youth Services Initiative, and has been leading the implementation of a provincial strategy to create recognizable, effective and easily accessible spaces, co-created with young people for young people, where a wide range of customized services and programs are available for a young person (aged 11-25 years old) and their family to find the help they need. There are currently Kickstand Centres in 8 Alberta communities and an online service called Kickstand Connect.  Imagine if everyone knew where to go to get the support they need!
