Sadfishing is the act of someone making exaggerated claims about their emotional problems to generate sympathy. Similar to "catfishing" where someone exaggerates their attributes to manipulate others in dating them, "sadfishing" plays on others' sympathy for a quick dopamine fix. Not to be confused with #sadfisting or #catfisting
