Text: John 19:1-16

As Jesus's trial before Pilate continues, he shows that he understands and wields authority better than Pilate or the religious leaders. He's a better leader than any of them; in fact, he's a better leader than anyone else we'll ever find. We follow him because he's a better leader.

Our Annual Church Meeting was after church on March 8, 2026. We heard a financial report, elected new Elders and a new Trustee, reflected on 2025, and looked ahead to 2026.

What will we do with the truth of who Jesus is? We see some responses we don't want to imitate in how the religious leaders, Peter, and Pilate acted. But in the example of Jesus himself, we see a better way.

As we launch our new series "Worth Believing," we look at Jesus's arrest and his trial before Annas. In these encounters, Jesus shows that his Kingdom operates on values which are counter to the culture around us. As we become like Jesus, we want these values to be ones we live by, as well.

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to segment your life? There’s work you, family you, private you, Church you. And sometimes those versions of us barely know each other. You can sing with passion on Sunday…and snap at your kids on Monday. You can lift your hands in worship…and cling tightly to control the rest of the week. We have become very good at compartments. And somewhere along the way, we started placing worship in one of them. Worship is more than Sunday mornings and it's costly.

Social media isn't inherently evil, and can actually have some benefits if used wisely. Yet it is a source of a lot of distractions for a lot of people. As followers of Jesus, how should we engage (or not engage) with social media so that it doesn't hinder our relationships with God and others?
