At this point they wanted to kill Him, yet He masterfully disrupted their unified attacks. While He had them off-step, He delivered painful truth - that He was made the Judge of their souls. Ouch! Jesus perfectly illustrates how sometimes it is good to cleverly teach things which can only be understood later - as needed. Pay close attention in this section of Scripture, & maybe "lightbulbs will go off in your head (colloquial expression)" - even if you've read this many times before.
