God enabled David to recover everything taken by the marauding band that came to Ziglag when David and his men were away. By way of analogy, the most magnificent aspect of this great reversal of fortunes, from despair to winning, should lift our eyes to the wonderful deliverer Jesus. As with the defeat of Goliath when they were up against it, David’s leadership and victory in getting everything back points us to the One who can rescue all, deliver all…bring everything back. It becomes a time to share in the plunder.
