Sammy Jay, ever the busybody, quickly discovers Peter Rabbit's return to the Old Briar-patch. Peter, wanting privacy with Mrs. Peter (Miss Fuzzytail), hides her and tries to deflect Sammy's probing questions about his time in the Old Pasture. 

Sammy teases him about Miss Fuzzytail and her father, Jed Thumper. Noticing Peter's evasiveness, Sammy suspects he didn't return alone. He then spies Mrs. Peter and loudly announces to the world that "Peter Rabbit's married!"
