Chapter 6 - In Touch with Animals

- You may want to touch the skin or the coat of the animals you meet. Of course, not all animals like to be touched. If you love and respect animals, you know that many do not want you to come to close to them.
- Maybe you have noticed with your own pets that some like to be stroked and some don’t.
With wild animals it is best to assume that we don’t like to be touched.

We are your friends and we don’t want to harm you, but we are also wild animals and we act and react according to our instincts.
Even if we talk with you telepathically, we are still who we are, ok ?
So please don’t come too close or touch us in the wild. Even if a guardian or a keeper tells you that it is ok to touch one of us, it is best to always ask us directly if we really want to be touched.
We are so happy that you want to talk with us in this way and this is what we would like to practice with you now.

Think of your pets at home or think of other animals you know and ask them:
“Do you like to be touched by me ?”
Listen what you hear – and now you can write down the answers.

What did it feel like to touch an animal – can you remember your hand on their skin or coat ?
What was special about it ?

Did you speak to the animal ? Did you hear or feel something back from them ?
Were they happy that you were there ?

We can talk telepathically wherever we are, we don’t need to be together. So even when you are at home again, you can still talk with the animals you met in the forest, in the jungle, in the Zoo, by a lake or at your friend’s place.

And please remember that even though we love talking with you (a lot !), we often prefer if you don’t touch us or come too close to us, especially if we are animals in the wild.

Please respect our space – this will keep us happy and will make our friendship strong.
