Brad Allen grew up in a religious cult and from a young age knew he was gay. He was out to his family, but he lived by the belief that being gay was something that he could change. He eventually went to work in a church after getting his Masters in Divinity and loved his work there until he was fired. His firing led him to finally embrace being gay, which resulted in him being ostracized from the community he had built around him. This ultimately resulted in him becoming suicidal. Today we will talk about how he grew from this darkest moment in his life, the changes he made because of it, how it led him to his current role as an Education Specialist at Urban Peak in Denver, CO work with homeless youth, and how it gave him the power to live his compete and authentic life.
