There’s been a few pot stories that have come out in recent weeks we want to discuss.

Most recently, Edmonton city councillors are debating where cannabis and tobacco smoking will and won’t be allowed in their city, as other Canadian municipalities like Wood Buffalo in Alberta have decided to ban public consumption all together. What does this mean for medicinal users?

In British Columbia meanwhile, the government announced their next steps in how to cannabis will be sold through Liquor Distribution Branches (including the more than 150 different types of weed they will sell)...but not every province is in agreement with that strategy.

And finally...our neighbours to the south have started to hand out lifetime bans to Canadians associated with the cannabis industry.

Today, Transport Canada announced seatbelts will be mandatory on new highway buses by the year 2020. It’s a discussion that’s been mentioned often in the months since the Humboldt Broncos crash that killed 16 back in April. The bus carrying the team did not have seatbelts.

Meanwhile yesterday, the semi driver from Calgary charged in the crash was released on one-thousand-dollars bail. He’s set to next appear in court in August but in the time being, we still have many questions about the trial.
