Another warm day is on tap for Thursday as highs could get close to 80° in some spots. A few showers will be possible as well, but it won’t rain all day at any one location. Friday and Saturday look a little more unsettled as a front approaches and stalls out nearby before a second, stronger front sweeps through early Sunday, taking the clouds and rain – and eventually the unseasonably warm temperatures – with it.

Our run of unseasonable warmth gets even warmer starting Wednesday in the wake of a warm front. A few showers will be possible as well. Thursday could be the warmest day so far of this young year, too. Friday should stay warm but will feature increasing rain chances ahead of a front.

A cold weekend is upon us as Arctic high pressure pays a visit. Temperatures top out in the 40s each afternoon after starting in the mid-to-upper 20s on Saturday morning and the low 20s on Sunday morning. After one more subfreezing start Monday morning, temperatures take a warmer turn for the new work week.

We’ll start Thursday well below freezing – generally mid-to-upper 20s away from the immediate coast – as calm winds and clear skies combine for good radiational cooling. Temperatures warm to the low 60s on Thursday as high pressure slips offshore, and we keep that warmth going through Friday afternoon before the bottom falls out of the mercury overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Dangerous cold is expected Saturday night into Sunday morning, with wind chills in the single digits possible.
