John Calipari went ‘full platoon’ on Tuesday night, and the Cats beat Missouri by 49. (Picture used as a blatant attempt to get attention and of course has nothing to do with UK or the Sports Edge!)
Kentucky fans wanted more of a breather on Tuesday night. The stage was set with a bad Missouri team in town, and the fans got what they want. Cats whip Mizzou 86 – 37. Cats now 16 and 0, 3 and 0 in conference play.
Karl Towns with a double double, 12 points and 10 rebounds as well as five blocks. Aaron Harrison had 16 points and Willie Cauley-Stein 13. On the rebound side Dakari Johnson with 7 and Marcus Lee with 6.
A new addition to the regular rotation-Dominique Hawkins, who played 20 minutes and scored six points.

According to Cal, another reason Kentucky was back on track was the return of the platoon system and what that did for defense.

Karl Towns with that double double, and Cal thinks he’s playing good. But he can get a LOT better.

We’ll have more on the Missouri game tomorrow.
UK’s 16 and 0 start is the fourth best start in the program’s history. Cats are back in action Saturday afternoon as they travel to Alabama.
Predators beat Vancouver Tuesday night 5 to 1.
