In 2013, a team of researchers and investigators began the first forensic collection of DNA on a pre-selected group of Peruvian Elongated Skulls. For the first time in history, the investigation standards met the highest level of Federal and international directives by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the National Institute of Justice.
