In today's episode, we’re talking about mindset.
Whether you realize it or not, your mindset matters. In fact, I’d argue it’s one of, if not, the biggest factor in your overall happiness and success in life.
I'll explain how to determine whether you have a fixed or growth mindset, and what each mean to your personal and professional life. I'll also share simple and easy ideas you can immediately implement in your daily life to get closer to a growth mindset, if you're not already there.
Whether you struggle with negative self-talk, a lack of confidence or an unsupportive circle, I've got tips and tricks for you. Listen and learn more.
When faced with a difficult decision, we go straight to asking ourselves and others, "What should I do?" Well, I'm here to say, who cares what you should do, what do you want to do? What would make you the happiest? Let's do that.
We can get so caught up in the shoulds – I should be married by 25, have kids by 30, be making six-figures by 35, and on and on and on – that we end up should-ing ourselves to death. I, for one, spent untold years trying to keep the peace by going with the flow. How'd that go for me, you ask? I ended up regretful and resentful of all the years and opportunities I wasted because I was doing what I thought I should do. So long story short, not well.
But I've since broken free of that habit. Better late than never, right? So now I'm here to share my stories with you and give you tip, tricks and resources so that you can do the same.
Stop should-ing your life away right now!
How many of you have ever had a entire conversation with someone without realizing you were talking about two different things? Maybe you assumed you knew what the other person was talking about, and turned out to be wrong. Or vice versa.
How does this kind of thing happen? Well, if you've ever heard this quote from playwright George Bernard Shaw, you know – “The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”
Stop assuming that your getting your message across. I have tips and tricks for closing the gap between what you say and what the other person hears. Because when it comes down to it, perception is reality. It doesn't matter what you say, what matters is what they hear.
'Tis the season of giving thanks. And on today's episode, we're advocating for an attitude of gratitude!
I'm sharing the reasons why adopting an attitude of gratitude are good for your health, your relationships, and your life in general. I'm offering an easy way to incorporate a gratitude practice into your day-to-day. I'm also letting you know it's ok to give thanks for what you have...while wanting more for yourself at the same time.
Even in the midst of one of the hardest and strangest years most of us have ever experienced, we can still be grateful. Listen and learn now.
