Who could forget Brandy's debut as the first African American Cinderella in this mesmerizing film? Or the incredible amount of casting diversity and big name talent who showed up to create one of the most successful TV movies in history? As we travel back to one of our childhood staples and revisit the music, costumes, and unsettling fairy godmother jump scares, we have to ask: does the glass slipper still fit after all of these years? The doctor is in! As promised, we're taking it back this week to the animal whisperer himself with Eddie Murphy's Dr. Dolittle (1998). Not only did this film begin an entire cinematic franchise with a ton of sequels, but it also earned itself a modern reboot in the last few years. Don't even get us started on how absolutely stacked the cast is with big names in both voice acting and comedy! After witnessing how a gift for speaking with furry friends turned the good doctor's life upside down, we have to ask: would we also choose to talk to our pets if given the chance? Don't be a player hater! We're once again jumping back into the early 00s this week with the original TV movie Seventeen Again (2000). Starring Tia, Tamera, and Tahj Mowry, this film was released during the height of the family's Hollywood takeover. It follows the wacky adventures of two kids whose divorced grandparents are exposed to lab chemicals that transform them back into teenagers again. And to our greatest shock? It was not originally a DCOM! With hot young grandpas and all sorts of 00s flavor baked in, does this tale of true empathy and family love stand the test of time? Or can we just not stomach the idea of going back to high school? Let’s find out together!

Happy February! We're starting this month off with a beloved, and highly underrated, Disney Channel Original Movie called The Color of Friendship (2000). Based on a true story, it depicts the complicated and thought provoking events that occurred when the black family of a US Congressman were assigned a white South African girl to stay with them through a student exchange program. Unlike most of the silly and wacky DCOMs that we previously reviewed, this film instead strikes a more serious note when tackling the subjects of apartheid in South Africa and prevalent racism in the 1970s. This move was deeply impactful when we were children, but does it still hold up 22 years after its release? Or does the plot fall prey to Disney's usual gloss over? Let’s find out together!

You best start believing in ghost stories, you're in one! As promised for this week, we are diving into a swashbuckling good time with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). Since it's Lex's birthday episode, what better way to celebrate than to revisit one of our all time favorite franchises? The cast is star studded, the jokes break every wall including the fourth, and not a single character goes to waste, but does any of it actually hold up 22 years later? You've got a friend in us! This week we're going to infinity and beyond with the very first Pixar feature: Toy Story (1995). Considered one of, if not THE ultimate Pixar classic of all time, this movie has spurned a number of sequels and became a cornerstone of many childhoods. But is it a beloved memory for Steph and Lex... or someone(s) else? Of course, it must be asked: is this film worthy of being chosen by the claw? Or should we donate it to Sid's toy box? Chasing Childhood is so hot right now! That's right, we're taking it back to the early aughts with this Ben Stiller original: Zoolander (2001). What do male models, impromptu gasoline fights, and being brain washed to commit a political assassination all have in common? They're each very crucial aspects of this plot and somehow became deep parts of our comedy repertoires. As we dive back into a flick that we probably shouldn't have watched as children, we have to ask: is this movie still really, really ridiculously good (looking)? Happy New Year! We're ringing in a brand new era by taking it way back to an old flick with Rudolph's Shiny New Year (1976). The lesser known sequel to Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, this is one of two films that scarred Lex as a child and inspired her fear of birds. So naturally we're going to endure some impromptu therapy as we sort out what made this movie so horrifying to children. In our breakdown we wonder if it's possible for this twist on Rudolph's classic tale to redeem itself now that we're adults, or can we finally receive some closure and put it away for good?
