New year, same podcast! We're kicking off 2021 on an excited note with our most beloved animated classic, and recently inducted Disney Princess, Anastasia (1997). Of course we can't review a true staple of our childhoods without a special guest who was there through it all. This week Jackie returns to bring us a game that would be simple if anyone else were playing and let's just say it takes everyone off the rails. Can we still effectively review our long time favorite movie through the lens of pure chaotic energy? Let's find out together!

Welcome to the very last week of our Christmas Countdown! Once more we are finishing strong with a double feature of both How The Grinch Stole Christmas movies (1966 and 2000). A highly requested special guest also makes a return appearance in this week's episode. It goes without saying, these are two of our absolute favorite movies of all time, but when we take a critical stand on them, can they still hold up against our scrutiny? Guess we will just have to find out together... And, of course, no matter what you celebrate this season: we wish a very Happy Holiday from us to you!

We are almost finished our Christmas Countdown! Today we're attempting our very first triple movie review of two Disney shorts, Santa's Workshop (1932) and Pluto's Christmas Tree (1952), along with our main feature Barbie in The Nutcracker (2001). This is perhaps our most daring endeavor yet and somehow we've managed to fit all three into one episode, but are any of them still worth the watch this holiday season? Week 2 of our Double Feature Christmas Countdown has arrived! Today we're reviewing a pair of totally obscure Christmas cartoons that potentially only we remember: Annabelle's Wish (1997) and Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (2000). For one, we totally broke the VHS player watching it repeatedly and the other was a more rare sight on network television, but are they equally as enthralling and heartwarming as we remember? Or is it possible to take a good thing too far? Let's find out together.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Welcome to our Christmas Countdown! To start, we are taking on two stop motion holiday favorites: Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town (1970) and The Year Without A Santa Claus (1974). In the same line of familiar claymation greats as Rudolph and The Little Drummer Boy, these two films are prime material for stirring up those nostalgic wintertime feelings. There might even be a conspiracy intertwining them, but are they worth watching together to see the connection? Or have we finally aged out of the old school Christmas animations? 

As we finish our Thanksgiving Countdown and transition into Christmas, this week we are taking on two world renowned holiday classics: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965). Even though both films have fairly short run times under 30 minutes, their cultural impact on the holidays cannot be understated. We definitely watched them a ton as kids, but are they just as silly, heartwarming, and memorable as we recall? Or has this famously retro cartoon begun to show its age?

As we begin to round out the Thanksgiving Countdown, this week we are taking on the one and only Garfield's Thanksgiving (1989), a made for TV special that aired pretty frequently in the 1990s and early 2000s. While the film is short, it holds a lot of nostalgia and sentiment for many people who grew up with the Garfield comics and TV series. So we have to ask: is this cable classic is worth its weight in lasagna, or are we safe to change the channel on a former holiday staple?

Week Two of our Thanksgiving Countdown is here! This week we're discussing Free Birds (2013), a relatively unknown animated film with some surprisingly famous names attached. Though it isn't a staple from our childhoods, we thought it might be fun to see what content is available to today's kids. Our first episode after the Halloween Countdown means it's time to begin our wintertime transition! This week we're discussing The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), a highly beloved classic pulled right from the imaginative mind of Tim Burton. It's Steph's all time favorite, but Lex has never actually seen the film before now. Is this sleeper success totally overhyped after a quarter century of renewed popularity?
