Deja Lewis is a Office Management Specialist who teaches African American women how to build sustainable businesses with the use of successful business management skills. Before coaching, she started two other businesses and discovered her passion for teaching women how to break the generational curses of poverty and financial anxiety. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Christopher Newport University in Business Administration with a concentration in Management in May 2019. It was in November 2019 that she began coaching women. In addition to coaching, Ms. Lewis is a motivational speaker for online and physical events.

Madeherselfaboss  started as just two women learning about starting a business and wanting to share what they’ve learned. What was meant to be a simple workshop blossomed into a unique and educational conference featuring some of the best in the business of “business”!  Now held at the start of every year, each conference offers key components every girl boss needs to be familiar with when starting her own brand:  Business Law, Branding/Marketing, and Finance. 

Meeting new people is great and getting empowered to follow your dreams is even better, but many are still left without the fundamental tools and knowledge to actually get started in launching that product or service to consumers. Being the girl, from very humble beginnings, there are so many days where it feels extremely crazy for me to have been lead to be the person that help people and organizations, because I didn’t see that growing up.   

Having been in the Human Resources, Non-profit & Mental Health field, I’ve been discouraged and even underpaid, but still love every ounce of the work because it’s work that I would do for free.   

We all have a designated number of years, hours, minutes and seconds on this Earth, and we should all strive to leave a legacy. My only goal, is to help people find out how to do that, and to be the very best at discovering who they are and maximizing their talents, in order for them to define their own meaning of success.

Mr. David Clark is a native and current resident of Charlotte who has been doing public speaking for over five years. Mr. Clark specializes in “Spiritual and Character Development”.  He has been sought out all over North Carolina and South Carolina and has been invited to Florida, Virginia, Georgia, Ohio, Arizona, Alabama, Texas and Utah.  There, he has spoken to various churches, Academic Institutes of all Levels, Civic and Non-Profits Organizations.   He truly has a passion for helping others. In addition, to encourage them in a world full of despair, which has become his motivational philosophy.   

David is better known for his relatability, humility and brashness for combating the “norm” stigma that society illustrates. He uses the most effective way of communicating which is complete transparency out of love. When doing speaking his go-to method when problem-solving is the “Farmers Mentality”, which means he digs through the dirty problems until the root of the issues arise, then together we pull them up and re-established a firm foundation.

Jacquelyn Tyre-Perry, who typically goes by Joc for short is a personal growth coach. She teaches women of color how to create a life they love by mastering their mindset, communication, relationships, and self care. Her mission is to help women stop just looking like they have it together, and actually get it together.

She’s helped women with all different kinds of backstories shift their mindsets and get clear on what they want out of their lives, communicate confidently and effectively by standing up for themselves, create healthy and fulfilling relationships, and prioritize their needs without guilt. Her main goal is to help 1,000 black women create and live a life they love.
