Fi: Kesän illat Pohjanmaalla olivat pitkiä ja valoisia.
En: The summer evenings in Ostrobothnia were long and bright.

Fi: Tähdet eivät näkyneet, mutta maisema oli kaunis.
En: The stars were not visible, but the landscape was beautiful.

Fi: Eino vanhan punamullan värisen talonsa verannalla katseli kaukaisuuteen.
En: Eino sat on the porch of his old red ochre-colored house, gazing into the distance.
