"After experiencing mild symptoms that resemble COVID-19, President al-Assad and first lady Asma al-Assad took a PCR test, and the result showed that they are infected with the virus," the presidency said.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Monday reported 71 new cases, 23 of them overseas travellers in quarantine facilities. As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand had risen to 26,441. Of these, 23,580 had been contracted locally, including 14,688 who were found via proactive testing, while 2,861 were returnees.
