At the beginning of the episode Keirn offers condolences to Luis Troyano's family as he passed away just last week from oesophageal cancer. Luis was a brilliant baker on The Great British Bake Off on series 5 and was a finalist. May he rest well.

Keirn joins the contestants in the tent for Japanese Week on The Great British Baking Show. The contestants were tasked with making "Japanese" steamed buns (Keirn talks about this not being traditionally Japanese), matcha mille crepe cake and a kawaii showstopper cake. Keirn talks about the misinformation given out about Japanese Week and how the producers missed the opportunity for a real cultural experience for the contestants and the viewers.
