She made change here for over 13 years as a teacher, coach, admin, and mentor! Chiyo Trauernicht or Mrs. T., as her students call her, has a huge passion for music. Being from Japan, music wasn't necessarily an option for her, but as she went through school music continually kept reminding her of what she really needed to do. Trauernicht takes us through a ton of her life story and experiences from working with the United Nations to working at a facility for people with disabilities in Beatrice, NE. She shares so much of her passion and love of music beyond just teaching it to students. As you listen you'll want to dust off that trumpet or open up that piano one more time to feel that passion of music again.
