This is The first Chapter of Anitismo: The Ancient Religion of The Philippines by Isabelo de Los Reyes 

Narrated & Translated from Spanish to English by: Chase Augustus Marcum III 

Chapter 1 - Brahmanism, Buddhism and Islam

For the first Time in History, I have translated : The Ancient Religion of The Philippines (La Religion Antigua de Filipinas)  by Isabelo de Los Reyes from Spanish to English.

One of the most historical books of The Philippines about our Pre-Colonial History, that until now only Spanish speakers could read. Now All Filipinos can read about our history before the arrival of the Spanish. This book was written by a great Filipino Scholar and leader  that was very influential in the beginning of The Philippines liberation from Spain, The Founder of the first Filipino Independent church (Iglesia Filipina Independiente), A member of La Liga Filipina and family member of Dr Jose Rizal. Of course I am referring to Isabelo de Los Reyes. I will release it for all Filipinos and anyone in the world wanting to learn of The Philippine pre-colonial past from a Filipino source.  I will release it for free on social media one chapter at a time, Here is the first chapter:

This particular Interview was a project from my Religion in America course here at Humboldt State University titled: Oral History: Religion and Humboldt, in the Time of COVID. We practice within the Soto Zen tradition of Eihei Dogen Zenji (1200-1253) and Shunryu Suzuki Roshi (1904-1971), founder of the San Francisco Zen Center. Our temple, Rin Shin-ji (Forest Heart Temple), was founded by Seisho Maylie Scott in 1999. Maylie came to Arcata from Berkeley Zen Center, where she trained for many years and received Dharma transmission from Sojun Mel Weitsman, an eminent disciple of Suzuki Roshi. After Maylie's death in 2001, Hozan Alan Senauke (a dharma brother of Maylie) and Enji Angie Boissevain (a disciple of Kobun Chino Roshi) served for many years as visiting teachers and advisors. Zenki Mary Mocine and Tokuden Mark Lancaster have also been important teachers for our sangha. In 2014 Fugan Eugene Bush became our Head Teacher. Council of the Gods A play by Jose Rizal Performed by Chase Marcum This is the English translation of Jose Rizal's Award winning play Council of the Gods adapted for an online YouTube format produced and performed by Chase Marcum. El Consejo de los Dioses (English Translation: The Council of the Gods) is a play written in Spanish by Filipino writer and national hero José Rizal, first published in 1880 in Manila by the Liceo Artistico Literario de Manila in 1880, and later by La Solidaridad in 1883. El Consejo de los Dioses was written by Rizal when he was only nineteen years old, and reveals the humanistic education of the Philippines at the time and his answer to scholasticism. Depicting Olympian deities discussing Western literary standards, it becomes a reference text of literary criticism in the Philippines. Rizal further explores the true meaning of human desire for knowledge and designs the guidelines for a Filipino speculative thought. The play won the first prize award in an 1880-1881 literary contest commemorating the death of Cervantes sponsored by the Liceo Artistico Literario de Manila. “Con el recuerdo del pasado entro en el porvenir” (“I enter the future remembering the past”), was Rizal's epigraph for the award.
