2007's Ghost Town the Movie

Dean Teaster's 'Ghost Town The Movie', is a unique "Eastern" Western. It is N.C. native Dean Teaster's tribute to his father Robert Doyle Teaster and "Ghost Town In The Sky" theme park.

This is a film that Shawn worked on as a boom operator in his film days.  Yes, this movie isn't very good.  Yes, the sound is bad, the acting is bad, the story is bad and the writing is bad.  But we had a good time talking about it and Shawn enjoyed reminicing about this fim.

1986's Aliens

Decades after surviving the Nostromo incident, Ellen Ripley is sent out to re-establish contact with a terraforming colony but finds herself battling the Alien Queen and her offspring.

This movie was picked because it was Shawn's first R rated film.  Is it as scary as I remember? No, but it's still a quality film.

2023's Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning 

Ethan Hunt and his IMF team must track down a dangerous weapon before it falls into the wrong hands.

We start our final 15 episodes with a bang and lots of running and cool stunts.  Join us as we review the most recent Mission Impossible film.  This movie has all the great stunts and action and intruige and spy stuff.

1995's A Goofy Movie 

When Max makes a preposterous promise to a girl he has a crush on, his chances to fulfilling it seem hopeless when he is dragged onto a cross-country trip with his embarrassing father, Goofy.

We end our summer break month with a fun film from our youth.  A goofy movie is a wholesome, father - son road trip about bonding and learning about each other.  Also the music is great and we're still waiting for that Powerline CD to drop.

1995's Heavyweights 

Plump kids are lured into joining a posh fat camp with the promise of quick weight loss and good times, only to find that it is a woodland hellhole run by a psycho ex-fitness instructor.

This fun Disney film brought back lots of nostalgia for the both of us.  Andrew loves this film and watches it often, not the case for Shawn.  Does it hold up? Is Ben Stiller a good bad guy? Find out on...

1980's Friday the 13th 

A group of teenage camp counselors attempt to re-open an abandoned summer camp with a tragic past, but they are stalked by a mysterious, relentless killer.

Andrew and I watch for the first time, and were completly surprised by the fact that Jason wasn't in this film.  How did we now know this fact? We don't know, but did this fact affect our viewing of the movie?  Listen and find out.

1993's The Sandlot 

In the summer of 1962, a new kid in town is taken under the wing of a young baseball prodigy and his rowdy team, resulting in many adventures.

The first of our month long series of Summer Break Movies.  The Sandlot is a fun and nostalgic film for Andrew and Shawn.  There's very little to complain about with this movie and we both love it dearly.

2024's Rebel Moon 2

Kora and surviving warriors prepare to defend Veldt, their new home, alongside its people against the Realm. The warriors face their pasts, revealing their motivations before the Realm's forces arrive to crush the growing rebellion.

We end our month of Star Wars adjacent movies with the 2nd of what we now know will be a triolgy, of the Rebel Moon franchize.  Its a better film than the first and it does have some stunning visuals and looks amazing but once again we find ourselves not caring about these characters and just waiting for the robot to finally do something.  But if you like a good specticle, then this is your franchize.

1985's Explorers 

A boy obsessed with '50s sci-fi movies about aliens has a recurring dream about a blueprint of some kind, which he draws for his inventor friend. With the help of a third kid, they follow it and build themselves a spaceship. Now what?

Shawn relives a childhood film with this 80's classic scifi comedy.  We are joined by Jenn from My Streaming bubble for a trip down memory lane, as we decide this this film holds up to the test of time or does it fall faster than the ship after the bubble pops.
