We think we need to spend a small fortune for a wine worthy of the meal in the US.

Maison Barboulot Cabernet Syrah 2020-TJ's $6 Everyday French Red

A $5.99 Trader Joe's Red Blend sells for  $9.99 in New York and  $10 or $11 in Germany.

It seems that Trader Joe's provides for actual bargains.

A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Syrah sourced from the Languedoc region of southeastern France.

It is a tasty Red blend from a wine with a weird label that shows some baffling results when you check out the writing on Google translate.

Quarter Cut Bourbon Barrel Chardonnay 2019-Whiskey Wood Wine.

This is an Aldi $9.99 Chardonnay produced for them by Fetzer located in Hopland, California.

Fetzer is a certified B corporation meaning that they are at the highest standards environmental and social issues.

They have a history of using whiskey oak barrels in wine production.

Usually, bold Red wine is finished in bourbon barrels, but a Chardonnay sees bourbon barrel finishing.

It takes a delicate hand to marry Chardonnay and Bourbon barrels.

Patricia Green Cellars Dollar Bills Only Pinot Noir 2020-You Are Going To Want This One!

This wine has a story.

There were fires and smoke in Willamette Valley, Oregon, in September of 2020.

The smoke was in the area of the estate vineyards for Patricia Green Cellars.

They decided to declassify their top-end estate vineyards.

Declassify means to allow the grapes or the resulting juice to be used for less expensive wine. 

Patricia Green Cellars Estate wines sell for between$40 and $150. 

The Patricia Green Cellars Dollar Bills Only Pinot Noir 2020-You Are Going To Want This One! is a wine I found for $14.99, and it contains the high-end juice they decommissioned from their top wines.

This wine is made in the drink-it-now style but made with superb grapes and is still super cheap.

It is sold at retail wine shops for $12 to $14, which gives you an indication of what you can save by shopping for wine at Trader Joe's.

I think this is the best tasting Sauvignon Blanc I have enjoyed in 2021, and remember, I only choose wine I think I will like.
