This is a  $6.99 Trader Joe's wine from the Languedoc region of France.

The Blue Shell Sauvignon"  Blanc says "Southern French Coast" on the front label.

The Languedoc is located from the Pyrenees foothills to the Mediterranean
Ocean in southeastern France.

I like this wine. I drink for the Cheapwinefinder website; I am always on to the next one. I rarely drink the same wine twice.

But I would buy a case of the Blue Shell Sauvignon Blanc 2020.

A $6.99  wine for a long hot summer.

Don't Mind If I Do Pinot Noir 2019 - ALDI Lo-Cal Low Alcohol No Sugar Wine.

A $7.99, 85 calories, 9% alcohol, no sugar wine from Aldi.

Does it taste like diet wine?

Not really; if you did not know the alcohol was lower and the sugar was missing, you probably could not tell.

The greatest wine ever? Well, no, it is a $7.99 Pinot Noir. That is asking way too much.

Is it a wine worth seeking out and drinking?

YES!

Snoop Dogg wine? It's got to be a gimmick.

Wrong.

It has 10.5% alcohol; the typical California  Rosé is 12.5% to 13.5%.

This is old school Rosé, the kind you sip while sitting at a cafe on a plaza while watching the world walk by.

Maybe a little more nectar sweet than the old school French stuff, but are not in France.

Plus, The Chronic with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg is from 1992, almost 30 years ago.

Your Mom probably knows the words to gangster Rap songs.

Barons  Domaines de Rothschild (Lafite) sure sounds expensive, but the Los Vascos Chardonnay 2020 sells for $10 or less.

It is an estate wine from their project in the Colchagua Valley in Chile.

No oak barrels, no malolactic fermentation, just on lees aging.

Is that enough to make this Chardonnay taste great?

Oh yeah! This is one of those better buy-a-case wines.

The Attack of the Clones!!!

Not so fast.

A grape clone is a grapevine that exhibits excellent characteristics and is grafted onto rootstock to create enough vines to be categorized and indexed.

Most wine grape vines today are some type of clone.

The Noble Vine 337 Cabernet Sauvignon is a Lodi wine made from a Bordeaux clone. 

The 337 clone, go figure.

Yes, clones are geeky, but they give you insight into the winemakers' thinking when choosing the grapes.

So, you get a solid California Cabernet Sauvignon and a lesson in winemaking, all for a value price. I paid around $12.

Sea Sun Pinot Noir 2019

This is a wine from Charlie Wagner, the son of Chuck Wagner from Caymus Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and the head of Wagner Family Wines.

Joe Wagner, Charlie's younger brother, did Meiomi Pinot Noir before he sold it for a crazy amount of money.

Jenny Wagner has a  wine brand that specializes in Merlot.

This is A Wine Family.

Charlie Wagner is also the winemaker for Mer Soleil, which does Chardonnay wines.

Mer Soleil is French for Sea Sun.

The Sea Sun Pinot Noir is a new style of California Pinot Noir which Joe Wagner's Meiomi Pinot leads.

I am a huge fan of old-school California Pinot Noir, but I really, really like the Sea Sun Pinot Noir 2019. 

2018 was the first vintage for this wine, but they got their act together in a hurry; this wine rocks!
