In this solo episode of The Checkered Jaguar, I open up about a major milestone in my healing journey — getting the screws removed from my hips after undergoing two PAO surgeries.

Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) surgery is a surgical procedure used to treat hip dysplasia, a condition where the hip socket (acetabulum) is abnormally shallow or misshapen. This can lead to hip pain, instability, and early-onset osteoarthritis. After a year of recovery, this final surgery marks the end of my hip dysplasia chapter — and the beginning of a new one.

I share what the screw removal process was like, how this experience became an emotional and full-circle moment for me, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
