日本人在除夕夜一定要吃年越蕎麥麵，寺廟還要敲108下鐘聲來消除煩惱！西班牙人跨年時要在12秒內吃完12顆葡萄，每顆代表一個月的好運。蘇格蘭有個超講究的「First Footing」傳統，新年第一個訪客要帶威士忌、煤炭、鹽和麵包！

丹麥人會把舊盤子拿去朋友家門口摔破，碎片越多代表人緣越好！巴西人穿白衣衝到海邊跳過7道海浪許願。菲律賓人相信圓形帶來財富，所以要穿圓點衣服、擺12種圓形水果。厄瓜多人更酷，會做假人代表過去一年的不愉快，然後在除夕夜燒掉它！

Her life was more dramatic than any film: at 17, she shocked the world by starring in the first mainstream film with full nudity; at 19, she married an Austrian arms dealer but became a bird trapped in a golden cage; in 1937, she drugged her maid and escaped through a window, eventually making her way to Hollywood to become a star. During World War II, she combined the radio knowledge she learned from her arms dealer husband with composer George Antheil to invent frequency hopping technology to fight the Nazis.
