This month's featured young adult is Cherie Animashaun is a 17 year old author, leader, and student in  Skokie, Illinois. She is committed to making welcoming and vibrant spaces for youth and women around the world. Since establishing her nonprofit, Her Rising Initiative in 2021, she has awarded scholarships, led statewide conferences for hundreds of girls, and fundraised to empower women all over the globe.
