Sometimes we can't hear God amid everything that's cluttering our spirits. You know, the unforgiveness, feelings of offense, disappointment, guilt and shame, and so much more that occupies our minds and takes our peace. God is ready to unclutter our spirits, but He can't do this until we are ready to purge.

We must be aggressive about pursing God's peace. It is not the peace the "world gives", but God's own peace (John 14:27). This means that, even though God may not remove us from life's difficulties, He does encircle us in His peace that centers us in spite of what we are experiencing.

Have you ever been in a situation when you acted contrary to the person you normally are? When anger and frustration guide your actions, your thoughts and your words?

This happened to me and, though I know that “God is not a God of disorder, but of peace”, (I Corinthians 14:33), I still chose my anger and frustration over seeking God's peace.

We are experiencing tumultuous times with multiple life-altering things happening to us all consistently and simultaneously. At the beginning of the year, many people believed that the year 2020 would bring clarity and new vision for us all. And then the bottom fell out of the year and we had to face one of the most tumultuous years in our lifetime.

Question. How often do you stop to hear God's response after you pray? Think about it for a moment...Yeah, I can relate. That same question was asked in a session on prayer that I attended recently, and I was ashamed to say that I don't take enough time for Selah, or to pause, to hear from God.

God wants relationship with us, and in order to commune with God, we must be willing, and make time, to hear God's response to our prayers.
