Like Haggai, Zechariah encouraged the Jews to complete work on the re-constructed Temple in Jerusalem. But the work was about more than bricks & mortar; it was about ushering in the coming of the Messiah. His message encourages us to faithfully complete the work for which God has called us because no work is small or insignificant when it is part of God's plan.

Too often our decisions are made based on the voices we hear around us: Do this... Don't do that... In my opinion you should... I think it would be a good idea if you tried...In Haggai we meet a group of discouraged followers of God, disheartened because they were listening to what people were saying they should do. In this lesson we will learn that there is really only one voice we should tune our attention to. Haggai calls it the voice of the Lord Almighty.
