2020 Chevrolet SUV Models

For 2020 Chevrolet increases its lineup of crossover/SUVs yet again.  Although the newest addition, Trailblazer is technically model year 2021.

But Chevy now has seven crossover/sport utility vehicle models in its lineup.  And that causes a blurring of traditional lines separating class categories.

So, it's not just subcompact, compact, midsize, full-size, and oversize.  Although that would describe a robust lineup.  Yet, Chevrolet takes it's 2020 SUV model offerings to another level.

Suburban - Oversize

2020 Chevy Suburban - Oversize

Suburban is Chevrolet's multi-purpose beast.  Because it offers to seat up to 9-adult-passengers in 3-rows.  And it can tow up to 8,300 lbs.  Plus you can fold down both rows of backseats.  And then wind up with up to 121.7 cubic-feet of cargo space.  Also, Suburban is the longest-running nameplate in automotive history.  Finally, it's the only vehicle to have a star on Hollywood Boulevard!

Class: Oversize

Seating: 3-rows, up to 9-passenger

MPG range: 14 to 23 mpg

 

Tahoe - Full-size

2020 Chevy Tahoe - Full-size

Tahoe is the Chevrolet SUV model I've personally always desired.  And, like Suburban it's a 3-row sport-ute.  Plus, while maximum seating is up to 9 as well, it's 3rd-row is really for kids or small adults.  Interestingly you can tow up to 8,600 lbs with Tahoe.  So, Tahoe is plenty of SUV, just a little smaller than it's oversized brethren, Suburban.

Seating: 3-rows, up to 9-passenger

MPG range: 15 to 23 mpg

 

Traverse - Full-size/Midsize

2020 Chevy Traverse - Full-size/Midsize

Traverse is huge inside but drives small.  In fact, it's so big inside that this is where the Chevy SUV model lineup starts to blur traditional lines.  Arguably, Traverse delivers full-size dimensions in what the EPA classify's as a midsize vehicle.  And, Traverse is more crossover to Tahoe's SUV.   But maximum towing is still a respectable 5,000 lbs.
