We hiked out to Delicate Arch in the late afternoon, catching the light just right as it stretched across the rock. The trail was steady, quiet, and gave us space to take it all in. Back at camp, we settled around the fire—tired, dusty, and content. A backpack baby in tow added a layer of adventure and some good laughs. No rush, no big agenda—just a solid day in the Utah canyons of Arches National Park.

In Part 2 of our cross-country trek, we face the wild swings of the Midwest—from torrential downpours in Indiana to the eerie dryness of Kansas’s disappearing lakes. But the real adventure? Navigating it all with a toddler in tow. Between soaked car seats, snack emergencies, and midnight meltdowns, we push through exhaustion and setbacks, chasing the Colorado sunrise with a whole lot of coffee. It’s messy, honest, and full of unexpected beauty—welcome to the road trip of real life.

Here’s a quick update on our cross-country trip so far. We’ve made it through Ohio and Indiana with a toddler in the backseat and our converted utility trailer with a rooftop tent in tow. A few wrong turns, some long days, but we’re rolling along and figuring it out as we go.

John Kidd has made a big impact on me with his story and I know it will impact a lot of people out there. John is a carpenter, farmer, entrepreneur, and most importantly a believer in Christ. Like many of us before we became believers in Jesus Christ we had a past. I am thankful for Johns' willingness to get vulnerable with his past, in hopes that it will reach someone else who needs to hear it. While he humbly admits like all of us, that his story is still being written. He knows God can use him in the present as he continues to learn and grow.

Buying a house, remodeling, living with parents, learning how to be married, and how to serve God at the very top of the never ending list. The balance of it all can be exhausting, and we definitely don't have it figured out but we've been having fun learning.
