In our last service of the semester, Pastor Derek talked about how we can share the light of Jesus to others. He explained how we can't show others the light, however, until we clear out the things in our heart that blocks it. If we can make a path in our hearts and pursue holiness, God will make the light shine through.

This week we got to hear from Amber Enos, who is an associate staff member with Chi Alpha! She continued our current series about the coming of Jesus in the book of John. She explained the importance of Jesus coming in the flesh, and how his ultimate sacrifice on earth means never-ending grace for us.

Kicking off our final sermon series of the semester, Pastor Derek preached on John chapter one. He talked about how Jesus is the light against darkness, and how the light always wins. No matter how dark our lives get, the light is always present.

In part five of our Becoming series, Pastor Derek talked about what greatness looks like within the Kingdom of God. He highlighted how Jesus modeled true greatness through servant-hearted leadership by washing the disciples feet. We are all called to live service by humbling ourselves and serving others.

Pastor Derek continued our sermon series about the areas in our lives we can grow in to become more like Jesus. This week, he walked us through Genesis and how the devil tempted Eve with lies. He then encouraged us to find freedom from the lies and sins that entrap us in our own lives by confessing them to God and to others.

Pastor KC continued our sermon series on what it looks like to be a healthy Jesus follower by teaching us how to find friendship. She showed us how Jesus modeled what it looks like to be the ultimate friend to others, and she challenged us by calling us to something deeper than surface level relationships.

Pastor Derek continued our teaching on the Holy Spirit, and this week he talked about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He walked us through how the Disciples in Acts received this baptism and how it was necessary for them to obtain the power of God in order to start the early church. Similarly, we also need the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can walk into all that God is calling us to.

To kick off our sermon series about the Holy Spirit, we welcomed Daniel Quinby, who is the pastor of Sent Church, as a guest speaker. He outlined for us who the Holy Spirit is and his role in our lives. He then emphasized our need for him to be active in our lives if we are to fulfill all that God has for us.

Pastor Derek continued our series on the six elements that help make us a healthy disciple of Jesus by talking about the importance of knowing ourselves. He challenged us to dig deeper into ourselves in order to discover why we do the things we do. Knowing ourselves helps us know who God has made us to be.

We kicked off our second sermon series of the school year, and it is all about the six areas that we believe make up a healthy disciple of Jesus. Pastor Victor started us off by walking us through what it looks like to know God. He talked about how Moses climbed Mount Sinai to be with God, and likewise, he challenged us to ascend the mountain daily and be with Jesus.
